Public Statement being issued by the Active current membership of the Austin Immigrant Rights Coalition:
The current active membership of AIRC would like to inform our trusted friends and allies of several painful and troubling developments that have occurred without our consent.
Three individuals who constituted our board, and whose role was intended to be advisory, have taken it upon themselves to displace our leadership and instate a new (and illegitimate) leader. We do not acknowledge this change in leadership or recognize this individual as a representative of the organization that we have poured our hard work and vision into. They made this decision without consulting the current and active membership who have been responsible for the flourishing of this organization. This decision was made over the course of secret meetings that were held in isolation away from the community members who are the lifeblood of the organization and who truly direct and enable its successes.
We feel disrespected by these individuals who have not actively participated in the hard work that we have sacrificed so much to accomplish, and who now wish to rob us of our organization and our work. They have seized power and presumptuously taken it upon themselves to displace our leadership that has propelled us to the widely recognized and respected position we hold in the organizing community of Austin.
Despite this insulting disregard for our labor and unauthorized appropriation of our organization, we, the rightful stewards of this work, will continue on the path that we have forged. With the wholehearted support of our allies, we will not cease our work until local law enforcement ceases to cooperate with ICE to target our community.
We have gained the trust of a wide group of allies who have come to know and believe in us. We are familiar faces to these allies and to city officials, while the individuals who wish to displace us have not spent the extensive energy and devotion building relationships that are integral to creating change.
All further communication from the organization that the community has come to know and trust will come from our official website as control of our Facebook was taken from us by these individuals who do not represent us.
We thank you for your trust and your support, and look forward to moving forward with renewed focus and vision.

Declaración Pública emitida por la actual asociación activa de la Coalición de Derechos de los Inmigrantes de Austin:
Los miembros corrientes y activos de la AIRC le gustaría informar a nuestros amigos y aliados de confianza de varios acontecimientos dolorosos y problemáticos que se han producido sin nuestro consentimiento.
Tres personas que constituían parte de nuestro consejo, y cuyo papel fue pensado para ser asesor, han tomado sobre sí mismos para desplazar a nuestro liderazgo y instaurar un nuevo (e ilegítimo) líder. Nosotros no reconocemos este cambio de liderazgo o reconocemos este individuo como un representante de la organización que hemos volcado nuestro trabajo duro y visión. Ellos tomaron esta decisión sin consultar a los miembros actuales y activos que han sido responsables de la prosperidad de esta organización. Esta decisión se tomó en el transcurso de las reuniones secretas que tuvieron lugar en el aislamiento lejos de los miembros de la comunidad que son el alma de la organización y que en verdad directa y permiten a sus éxitos.
Nos sentimos ofendidos, irespetados e insultados por estas personas que no han participado activamente en el trabajo duro que hemos sacrificado tanto para llevar a cabo, y que ahora quieren robarnos de nuestra organización, nuestra identidad, nuestra visión y nuestro plan de trabajo activo. Ellos han tomado el poder y soberbia tomado sobre sí mismos para desplazar nuestro liderazgo que nos ha impulsado a la posición ampliamente reconocida y respetada que tenemos en la comunidad organizadora de Austin.
A pesar de esta insultante desprecio por nuestro trabajo y la apropiación no autorizada de nuestra organización, nosotros, los administradores legítimos de este trabajo, vamos a continuar en el camino que hemos forjado.Con el apoyo incondicional de nuestros aliados, no vamos a dejar nuestro trabajo hasta que la policía local deja de cooperar con ICE para atacar nuestra comunidad.
Hemos ganado la confianza de un amplio grupo de aliados que han llegado a conocer y creer en nosotros. Somos caras conocidas a estos aliados ya funcionarios de la ciudad, mientras que las personas que deseen desplazarnos no han tomado la amplia energía y devoción para construir las relaciones que son esenciales para crear un cambio.
El resto de la comunicación de la organización que la comunidad ha llegado a conocer y confianza vendrá de nuestra página web oficial como el control de nuestro Facebook fue tomada de nosotros por estos individuos que no nos representan.
Le damos las gracias por su confianza y su apoyo, y esperamos poder seguir adelante con el enfoque y la visión renovada.
